T-Mobile business customers put at back of the line

This post is for business customers of T-mobile who might have placed an order for the G1 phone due for release this month. We placed our order over the phone after the website order system broke down. Last week a rep by phone confirmed an order was in place and that tracking information would be coming soon.
We spoke with Angela a customer service rep this week and got a totally different story. Business customers are not actually eligible to order the new G1 phone featuring the Android operating system per company policy. Yes, business customers are at the back of the line. It didn’t matter if you planned in advance and responded promptly to banner advertisements etc.. First come first serve is not in the T-mobile company policy for business customers. The policy says NO to business customers on this matter! In our case we called a month ago by phone only to be told October 12th there is no longer an order in the system.
We were informed by the customer service rep known only as Mike who said he might have to wait until January 2009 if he wanted one for his use. He went on to say that HTC is having problems and is expected to be way behind. That is not really new news just part of the conversation.
A complete recording of the conversation already in progress is available here. (Windows Media Format.)
We are hopefull the company will update the policy and support it’s business customers.
Business customers: Be one of the last to get the G1 delivered to your door!
